Ask the patient to cover the eye opposite to the one being examined and to focus on the internal fixation target. They may blink normally, but should keep their eyes open during image capture.

2. How to hold the Eyer
Hold the Eyer with one hand, keeping your thumb free to press the capture button. With your other hand, grip the Eyer’s lens using your thumb and index finger. Use your remaining fingers to extend out to the patient's forehead to stabilize the device.
3. Aligning the Eyer
Position the Eyer at a 90° angle to the patient's face, without tilting it upward, downward, or sideways. The EyeCap is optional. These steps also apply when using the Eyer in its fixed position with the slit lamp adapter
4. How to find the retina
Slowly move the Eyer toward the patient’s eye, ensuring the iris is centered within the inner circle on the screen.
Continue moving closer until the light enters the pupil and the infrared light highlights the retina (a light purple hue).
When the whole screen turns fully purple, you're in the correct position to take the image.
