Um dos efeitos colaterais mais frequente em pacientes submetidos \u00e0 cirurgia de repara\u00e7\u00e3o do buraco macular \u00e9 o desenvolvimento de catarata. Por isso, j\u00e1 h\u00e1 algum tempo, especialistas indicam a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o conjunta dos dois procedimentos cir\u00fargicos para corre\u00e7\u00e3o das doen\u00e7as.<\/p>\n

Agora, o tratamento do buraco na m\u00e1cula combinado com o de catarata recebeu aprova\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica ap\u00f3s estudo da Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo (USP), de Ribeir\u00e3o Preto (SP), comprovar a efic\u00e1cia da t\u00e9cnica.<\/p>\n

A pesquisa<\/h2>\n

Os pesquisadores dividiram 65 pacientes com buraco macular em dois grupos. O primeiro, com 33 pessoas, passou pela cirurgia combinada entre as duas t\u00e9cnicas. J\u00e1 a outra turma, com 32 pacientes, fez o procedimento de corre\u00e7\u00e3o da catarata posteriormente.<\/p>\n

O estudo<\/a> \u00e9 o primeiro prospectivo do mundo a avaliar a jun\u00e7\u00e3o das duas cirurgias em uma \u00fanica interven\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Resultados<\/h2>\n

De todos os pacientes submetidos apenas \u00e0 cirurgia de corre\u00e7\u00e3o da m\u00e1cula, 27 desenvolveram catarata em seguida. Com isso, precisaram de nova opera\u00e7\u00e3o em menos de um ano. De modo geral, seis meses ap\u00f3s o procedimento, apresentaram significativa piora na vis\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

J\u00e1 os pacientes do primeiro grupo tiveram uma melhora de acuidade visual semelhante aos que fizeram a cirurgia sequencial.<\/p>\n

Com isso, os resultados demonstram a efic\u00e1cia da jun\u00e7\u00e3o das t\u00e9cnicas em um \u00fanico procedimento.<\/p>\n

Benef\u00edcios<\/h2>\n

Na maioria dos casos, o surgimento da catarata ocorre apenas alguns meses ap\u00f3s a cirurgia da m\u00e1cula. Por isso, o procedimento \u00fanico, combinando as duas t\u00e9cnicas, apresenta diversas vantagens para m\u00e9dicos, hospitais, SUS e tamb\u00e9m para o paciente.<\/p>\n
