Mais do que isso, se s\u00e3o tempor\u00e1rias ou permanentes.<\/p>\n<p>Diversos relatos e pesquisas t\u00eam identificado sequelas na sa\u00fade de pacientes curados. Dentre elas, dor de cabe\u00e7a frequente, fadiga, sonol\u00eancia, problemas de mem\u00f3ria, perda de olfato e de paladar e, nos casos mais graves, altera\u00e7\u00f5es nos rins, c\u00e9rebros, pulm\u00f5es e cora\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>Agora, uma paciente apresentou ataque agudo de glaucoma ap\u00f3s Covid-19, dois meses depois da recupera\u00e7\u00e3o. Um estudo, publicado recentemente na revista Jama Ophthalmology, encontrou o ant\u00edgeno da prote\u00edna N (nucleocaps\u00eddeo) do SARS-CoV-2\u00a0nos tecidos oculares da portadora. A prote\u00edna regula o sistema de replica\u00e7\u00e3o do v\u00edrus.<\/p>\n<p>Apesar de ser apenas um caso at\u00e9 o momento, o relato \u00e9 importante para alertar e incentivar a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o das poss\u00edveis sequelas do coronav\u00edrus tamb\u00e9m nos olhos.<\/p>\n<p>Portanto, conhe\u00e7a a seguir mais sobre a pesquisa, como foi realizada e quais s\u00e3o os resultados.<\/p>\n<h2>O estudo<\/h2>\n<p>Cientistas de Wuhan, na\u00a0China, detectaram uma prote\u00edna reguladora do\u00a0novo coronav\u00edrus\u00a0nos olhos de uma paciente curada da\u00a0Covid-19. O relato do caso foi divulgado na revista\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jamaophthalmology\/fullarticle\/2771320\">Jama Ophthalmology<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A mulher, de 64 anos, testou positivo para a doen\u00e7a e passou 18 dias internada. Por\u00e9m, n\u00e3o apresentou sintomas graves. Entretanto, oito dias ap\u00f3s a recupera\u00e7\u00e3o, a paciente sofreu perca de vis\u00e3o nos dois olhos e dores agudas no local.<\/p>\n<p>Exames demonstraram um aumento consider\u00e1vel e perigoso na press\u00e3o do humor aquoso, que chegou a 50 mmHg \u2013 o ideal \u00e9 at\u00e9 22 mmHg. O diagn\u00f3stico foi de glaucoma agudo de \u00e2ngulo fechado.<\/p>\n<p>A paciente passou por duas cirurgias, j\u00e1 que o tratamento com rem\u00e9dios n\u00e3o surtiu efeito. Na ocasi\u00e3o, os m\u00e9dicos retiraram amostras do tecido conjuntivo para an\u00e1lise.<\/p>\n<h2>Os resultados<\/h2>\n<p>No material, os pesquisadores localizaram o ant\u00edgeno da prote\u00edna N (nucleocaps\u00eddeo) dentro das c\u00e9lulas da conjuntiva, malha trabecular e \u00edris, mesmo ap\u00f3s dois meses da recupera\u00e7\u00e3o. Essa prote\u00edna \u00e9 respons\u00e1vel pelo processo de replica\u00e7\u00e3o do v\u00edrus.<\/p>\n<p>Em seguida, comparou-se os resultados a um paciente controle, sem infec\u00e7\u00e3o pelo coronav\u00edrus, que foi submetido \u00e0s cirurgias iguais e no mesmo per\u00edodo. Contudo, o homem n\u00e3o apresentou a prote\u00edna. Desse modo, o estudo sugere uma poss\u00edvel capacidade do v\u00edrus em infectar outros \u00f3rg\u00e3os al\u00e9m do sistema respirat\u00f3rio. Inclusive, os olhos.<\/p>\n<p>Todavia, \u00e9 fundamental destacar que o caso dessa paciente \u00e9 raro. Por outro lado, demonstra a necessidade de mais investiga\u00e7\u00f5es sobre como o novo coronav\u00edrus afeta os olhos.<\/p>\n<h2>Conclus\u00e3o<\/h2>\n<p>Sem d\u00favida, o relato de glaucoma ap\u00f3s Covid-19 \u00e9 important\u00edssimo para buscar respostas em um cen\u00e1rio em que ainda n\u00e3o est\u00e1 claro quais s\u00e3o as sequelas da doen\u00e7a.<\/p>\n<p>Por isso, o estudo investigou se os ant\u00edgenos virais que permaneceram nos olhos, mesmo ap\u00f3s dois meses, podem provocar danifica\u00e7\u00f5es \u00e0 estrutura ocular.
